Framed Print of Einstein's Theory of Gravity, 1915
The four equations associated with Albert Einstein's theory of gravity, a theory crucial to Einstein's general theory of relativity. Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879 - April 18, 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist. He developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics. He is best known in popular culture for his mass-energy equivalence formula E = mc2. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". He was visiting the US when Hitler came to power in 1933, and did not go back to Germany. He settled in America becoming a citizen in 1940. He helped alert President Roosevelt that Germany might be developing an atomic weapon, and recommended that the US begin similar research. He was in support of defending the Allied forces, but largely denounced using the discovery of nuclear fission as a weapon. Later, together with Bertrand Russell, Einstein signed the Russell-Einstein Manifesto, which highlighted the danger of nuclear weapons. Einstein was affiliated with the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton until his death in 1955, at the age of 76. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
